Vision, Issues, & Values

My name is Michael Rudnick. I am a parent, husband, and devoted citizen to Gwinnett County.

Michael Rudnick and family - Candidate for Gwinnett County School Board

I have been involved in school system issues since the pandemic began in March of 2020. More importantly I have been an active parent for my special needs son since he began school in 2012.  As the parent of a special needs student, I have learned how to advocate for what is right; not just for my son but for ALL children.

As your school board member I will fight for:

Giving a voice to students, parents, and teachers. I will be responsive to your requests.

Special needs advocacy in all aspects of school for all levels

Hold our superintendent and other board members accountable for decisions affecting our children

YOUR parental rights

About Michael

Michael Rudnick grew up in Marietta and attended Lassiter High School.  He attended the University of Georgia and majored in Speech Communication.

After college Michael worked for his father running the family business; a sign store near Marietta Square that was in business for 16 years.  In 2007 Michael started working at Enterprise Rent-a-Car where he was promoted to Tri-Branded Area Manager of Enterprise, Alamo, and National Rent a Car in Louisville, Kentucky.  Frustrated with the public school and special education system in Louisville and lack of state programs for his son, he left his job to relocate his family back to Gwinnett County.

The Rudnicks specifically targeted Gwinnett County in 2018.  This was due to the first-class education the county offered.  After settling in the Mill Creek cluster, Michael began working for the City of Lawrenceville as the Fleet Director.  Michael has enjoyed being able to give back to the community while working in the public sector and serving the citizens of Lawrenceville.

Michael is a vocal advocate for students and parents in GCPS.  He has spoken at 9 (and attended 15) GCPS board meetings in the last 20 months, met with leaders of the community, and participated in efforts to give freedom of choice to parents, students, and staff.

Michael has been involved in Boy Scouts since 2013 when his son Brady first began as a Cub Scout. Brady is now a “tenderfoot”.  Michael has been involved in the advocacy for not only his son but the Special Needs community for over 8 years.  The Rudnicks attend Hamilton Mill First United Methodist Church.
